Chania celebrates the 4th Street Festival

From yesterday, July 31st, until August 4th, the heart of volunteerism beats in Chania with the 4th Street Festival, organized by the Association of Voluntary Contribution and Support “Orizontas” in collaboration with the Municipality of Chania and the Municipal Port Fund.

This year’s festival spreads across the pedestrian street of Tsouderon and Katechaki Square, hosting interactive workshops, information kiosks, music, street food, dance and live parties. 16 social organizations and associations of the city participate, highlighting their work and conveying the message of solidarity.

The festival culminates in Katechaki Square, with activities for young and old, gifts, surprises and a great celebration for everyone. “Orizont” and the Municipality of Chania invite residents and visitors to participate in the celebration of volunteerism.

Indicative Activities

Friday, August 1

Symphora! Where did the screens go? (11:00–12:00, Multi-purpose Hall)

Interactive workshop by the Prevention Center of the Municipality of Chania – EOPAE for children aged 5–7 and their parents, with fairy tales, games and information on the correct use of technology.

Monday, August 4 – Katechaki Square

Society in Action (19:30–23:30)

Social organizations, volunteer groups and structures of the city present their work with information kiosks, exhibitions and micro-actions. Goal: to promote volunteerism as a way of life and to network civil society.

Live Party (20:30–23:30)

DJ set by RAT fm and live performance by Manos Malaxianakis with his band. Street food, cocktails and summer rhythm until late.
