The Hellenic Mediterranean University’s international outreach strategy gains new momentum, with the hosting of a high-level government mission from the city of Ningbo, China, strengthening institutional ties and opening up prospects in terms of education, research and culture.
The meeting took place on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the Senate Conference Hall in Heraklion, with the Chinese delegation headed by Hu Jun, Deputy Director of the Ningbo Municipal Council. On the part of ELMEPA, the entire Rectorate participated, as well as faculty members from Faculties and Departments that are expected to be at the center of future cooperation.
The city of Ningbo is emerging as a global hub for academic networking, technological development and innovation. With important international platforms, such as the China-CEEC Innovation Cooperation Think Tank Alliance, and active partnerships with over 100 universities in more than 70 countries, it functions as China’s gateway to the rest of the world.
The Hellenic Mediterranean University, through this new partnership, confirms its strategic goal of connecting with emerging academic ecosystems and playing an active role in building a bridge of knowledge, research and culture between Greece and China.
