Amaliada is preparing to host the 1st Ilida Agro & Food Festival – Made in Olympian Land, a major celebration that connects the primary sector with agri-food, local gastronomy and the culture of Western Greece. The festival is scheduled to take place from 19 to 21 September at Belogianni Square and aspires to be a new institution of extroversion and promotion for the producers and products of the three Prefectures of Western Greece – Ilia, Achaia and Aitoloakarnania.
Throughout the three-day event, visitors will have the opportunity to get to know the local gastronomy and products of the region firsthand through an exhibition area with stands of local producers and businesses. At the same time, culinary workshops with chefs and experts from each prefecture will be held, which will give young and old the opportunity to participate in creative activities and learn the secrets of traditional and modern cuisine.
The program also includes concerts and cultural events, while younger visitors will enjoy children’s activities and creative workshops, creating a complete experience for the whole family. The organization aspires to highlight the cultural identity and tourism potential of the region, which with the improvement of infrastructure, such as the new Patras – Pyrgos highway, makes Ilia more accessible to visitors.
The support of the Municipality of Ilida, together with the institutional co-organizers, the Region of Western Greece, the Regional Union of Municipalities of Western Greece and the Chamber of Ilia, lends prestige to the initiative, enhances the visibility of the place and makes the festival a new institution that is expected to be established and develop into an important hub of culture, flavors and experiential tourism for all of Western Greece, offering visitors a unique opportunity to get to know the traditional products, flavors and authentic cultural identity of the region up close.
