The municipality of Lixouri approved the lease of the Legata tourist boat anchorage in Lixouri, through a long-term lease procedure and by holding a public, oral and open Auction.
According to the relevant decision, the lease period was set until October 13, 2041, the expiration date of the concession decision of the Ministry of Development, with the possibility of extension for an additional decade, if the concession to the municipality is extended.
Based on the decision, the lessee will fully assume the cost of upgrading the existing facilities, the construction of all required infrastructure, the issuance of the necessary permits and certificates and generally all obligations that will be included in the announcement.
The starting price of the rent will be set by the Property Valuation Committee of the Municipality of Lixouri. The rent achieved by the auction will be adjusted annually by 2%, from the second year of the contract onwards. Due to the importance of the project, the summary of the announcement will receive wide publicity. The terms of the relevant announcement for the auction will be determined by decision of the Municipal Committee.
The Municipality of Lixouri wishes to utilize the tourist boat anchorage located in the Legatata area with the aim of upgrading it in the best possible way. In particular, the Municipality, seeking to utilize the needs that are created, intends to utilize the concessioned property and operate it as a tourist boat anchorage with all the necessary specifications and the construction of hospitality infrastructure for the service of pleasure boats. The Municipality expects that there will be an influx of investors who will take over the anchorage and exploit it to provide services to arriving boats, while the utilization of its land area will also be an important element.
It should be noted that maritime tourism is a form of tourism with significant potential for further development in the wider Ionian Islands region, which is why it attracts the interest of investors for the creation of marinas and tourist anchorages.
