Patras is preparing to put its own sweet stamp on the European gastronomic map. From today, September 16 to 18, the Argyri Market is hosting the Patras Dolce Festival, the Greek stage of the European project GELATOn the ROAD, implemented by AX.EP.AN. – Development Company of the Chamber of Achaia within the framework of Creative Europe 2021-2027.
For three days, authentic gelato meets culture, sustainability and innovation through a rich program:
Pop-Up Museum with the history and culture of gelato
Cooking shows with local ingredients and sustainability secrets
Workshops for the public and professionals
Sustainable Scoops Competition, with gelatieri creating new flavors based on local products
Educational activities for children
And of course, the Gelato Station
The Patras Dolce Festival is a meeting place for families, catering professionals and visitors, who will get to know the new trends in sustainable gastronomy firsthand. At the same time, the Patras Gelato Restaurant Week (September 15-20) will bring special gelato-inspired menus to restaurants in the city.
Of particular interest is the Sustainable Scoops competition, through which Greek gelatieri, pastry chefs and chefs will compete for a place in the grand final in Italy, with prizes of eco-friendly equipment worth up to 5,000 euros. Those who participate in the workshops will receive a Certificate of Participation from the European project.
