The Mayor of Agios Nikolaos awarded a commemorative plaque to the son of Spyros Kokotos, Fotis
With Kitroplateia awash with aromas and crowds, the 6th Cretan Street Cooking Festival took place on September 26th, dedicated this year to the memory of Spyros Kokotos, one of the leading pioneers of Greek tourism and founder of luxury hospitality in Crete.
During the event, the Mayor of Agios Nikolaos Manolis Menegakis awarded a commemorative plaque to his son, Fotis S. Kokotos, in recognition of Spyros Kokotos’ invaluable contribution to tourism and the local community.
The Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Mr. Manosos Pediaditis, in a dedicated speech highlighted the milestones in the life of Spyros Kokotos, underlining his long-standing legacy in the emergence of Crete as a leading international destination.
For its part, Elounda Collection Hotels & Resorts expressed its pride in continuing the vision and legacy of Spyros Kokotos, honoring Greek hospitality with a steadfast commitment to quality and authenticity.
The festival was organized in collaboration with the Agri-Food Partnership of the Region of Crete and the Chefs Club of Crete, ensuring that no portion was served without authenticity and a creative touch. Local chefs, hoteliers, winemakers and producers joined forces, bringing the essence of Cretan cuisine to the plate.
