The organic table of southwestern Greece

Local networks and inter-regional collaborations are being created for Arta and Preveza, within the framework of the Plan entitled “The organic table of southwestern Greece”, by the Development Company of Southern Epirus Amvrakikos S.A.

In particular, the organic table of southwestern Greece aims to strengthen, highlight and touristically exploit the nutritional, gastronomic habit of using organic products and, more generally, products of high nutritional value, by the residents of the regions involved.

Among other things, the action attempts to form productive and effective collaborations or networks between bio-production, bio-nutrition and bio-tourism, which will constitute the starting point, on the one hand, for the strengthening and promotion of this nutritional – gastronomic habit, mainly through the education of production factors, the awareness of the new generation and the implementation of promotional actions and on the other hand for its tourist exploitation, mainly through experiential actions aimed at tour operators.

The 5 axes on which the plan moves are networking and cooperation, information – awareness of the student community, information – awareness of the local population and visitors, publicity actions and coordination and management.

In detail, the plan includes attracting participants and informing them about the content of the cooperation, as well as their participation in the informal local network, which provides organizational, administrative and advisory support, both for the network itself and for the inter-local cooperation forum. It also includes participation in the organization of educational visits and training lectures, as well as contribution to the creation of a tourist map with organic products, which reflects the type of products produced, the place of production, the standardization and packaging units and their exact location. In addition, participation is foreseen in the upgrading of the gastronomic guide with organic, traditional and local products of the region, as well as in the organization of tasting events and agrotourism activities. Finally, the plan includes participation in the organization of a local conference and conference for the presentation and promotion of the results of the cooperation.
