Four new names are among the ten most popular Greek hotels for German package holidaymakers, the latest fvw Hotelometer ranking showed.
The biggest jump in Greece was made by the Apollonia Beach Resort in Linoperamata, west of Heraklion on Crete, which entered the top ten ranking in third place in the fortnight from November 16 -29, according to the ranking based on enquiries in the Traveltainment reservations system used by German travel agents and online booking engines.
Newcomers and old favourites
The other three newcomers were the Kernos Beach (5th), Creta Maris Beach (6th) and the Agapi Beach (7th). Top place was taken by the Ikaros Beach Luxury Resort & Spa on Crete which pushed the Lyttos Beach into second place. Families were most interested in the Lyttos Beach, Ikaros Beach and Apollonia, while most enquiries from couples went to the Ikaros Beach, the Kernos Beach and the Agapi Beach.
The fvw Hotelometer is a fortnightly ranking of the most popular tourist hotels in Spain, Turkey and Greece, based on all enquiries in the Traveltainment reservations system used by German travel agents and online booking engines. The data, supplied by IT company TrevoTrend and split into different categories (overall, families, couples, singles and star ratings), thus reflect demand trends but do not show actual bookings.
