Athens remains among the cheapest European capitals in January 2016 since the average cost of hotel accommodation is confined to 82 euros per night, despite a 10,8% increase in prices compared to January 2015.
According to trivago, the most expensive city for this month remains Monaco with an average night cost at 252 euros.
The Greek capital is one of the cities that showed no change whatsoever in prices on a monthly basis, together with Budapest and Sofia.
Annual comparison
On an annual basis, hotel prices increased in Europe during January, with the highest rate of change recorded in Porto, at 21.1 percent.
Among the cities that have reduced prices, in comparison with the previous month, are Paris, Rome, Vienna, Istanbul and Monaco.
