Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura announced during Hellenic Hotel Chambers annual meeting that Hotels’ electricity bill debts outstanding up to 12 months can be settled in 36 monthly payments on condition of a 10% intial installment. Payments for seasonal operating hotels will probably be fewer.
During the same event, Economy, Development and Tourism Minister Yiorgos Stathakis declared that institutional arrangements are being considered for tourism property renting housing (sharing economy) in cooperation with the Finance Ministry, stressing that the new institutional framework will solve the taxation, operation and safety issues of this new tourism product.
