The Mitsis Rinela hotel in Kokkini Hani on Crete has overtaken rivals to jump to the top spot in Greece in the latest fvw Hotelometer rankings of popular hotels for German tourists.
The four-star hotel, which had been in fifth place the previous fortnight, was also the most popular Greek hotel with families in the fortnight from September 19 – October 2, according to the demand-based ranking. The previous number one, the five-star Atrium Palace in Kalathos, dropped back to seventh, while the Pilot Beach Resort remained in second place, and the Lindos Princess improved to third. New entrants in the top ten were the Mitsis Norida Beach (6th) and the Imperial Belvedere in Chersonissos (8th).
The fvw Hotelometer is a fortnightly ranking of the most popular tourist hotels in Turkey, Spain and Greece, showing customer enquiries but not actual bookings. It is based on all enquiries in the Traveltainment reservations system used by German travel agents and online booking engines. The data, supplied by IT company TrevoTrend, is split into different categories (overall, families, couples, singles and star ratings).
