Greece is among the 3 European destinations that gather the best reviews of tourists from all over the world with regard to the quality of local food after Sweden and Italy.
This was shown by a large-scale report on behalf of the Confederation of National Hotel Associations , Catering & Coffee in Europe, HOTREC, TCI Research, with the aim of mapping the future expectations of travelers from the services and products of Europe’s hotels and restaurants.
Regarding value for money in local food, the top three countries are Bulgaria, Poland and Turkey. The best quality hotels based on their quality are located in Sweden, Norway and Finland, while the hotels with the best value for money in Bulgaria, Cyprus and the Czech Republic.
Additionally, Greece ranks third in the “Top 3” destinations for “variety of local foods”, along with Turkey and Finland, another surprise entry.
The high epicurean ranking is juxtaposed with the lower ratings given to Greek hotels and the category “Value for Money” for lodgings. The Scandinavian trio of Sweden, Norway and Finland lead in the hotel category, despite the often “pricey” accommodations available in those countries.
