Seven Greek hotels, a hotel management company and Aegean Airlines won top prizes in Europe for 2017 in their respective categories at the 24th World Travel Awards held in St. Petersburg on Saturday (30/9).
The glittering ceremony of the “Oscars of the Tourism Industry” – as these awards are globally known – took place at the Russian Museum of Ethnography and attracted the most important representatives of the international tourism industry community.
The most important distinctions won by Greek enterprises follow:
1. Porto Zante Villas & Spa was named Top Beach Hotel in Europe, as well as a Top Luxury Hotel with Villas.
2. The Domes of Elounda ranked first in the Beach Hotel category
3. Grand Resort Lagonissi was among the top hotels in the Luxury Wedding Resort category.
4. Domes Noruz Chania, Autograph Collection was named Europe’s top 2017 resort.
5. Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas was the top European hotel in Europe’s Leading Villas Resort 2017
6. Elounda Bay Palace ranked first in the Leading Seafront Resort of Europe 2017 category.
7. Costa Navarino won the award for responsible tourism in Europe 2017 .
8. For the third consecutive year, HotelBrain was elected Europe’s Leading Hotel Management Company as well as leading hotel management company in Greece.
9. Aegean Airlines won first prize as the Top Regional Airline in Europe.
