The number of entries in the 8th Historic Hotels of Europe Awards surpassed all expectations, protothema.gr reports.
The 30 winners of the 10 categories were selected by a large number of tourists and scholars of culture and history, who voted for their favorite candidate hotels.
This year, the awards featured two new categories, the Historic Hotel Sustainability Award for sustainability and the New Entry Historic Hotel Award for hotels recently added to the collection.
For Greece, the golden award in the category of romantic hotel, the Historic Romantic Hideaway Hotel Award 2022, was won by Esperas Santorini, in Oia, Santorini island.
In the category of the best natural location, Historic Natural Setting Hotel Award 2022, the silver award went to the hotel Kyrimai, in Gerolimenas of Mani.
Finally, the bronze medal in the new category related to sustainability, Historic Hotel Sustainability Award, received the Allegory Boutique Hotel in Rhodes island.
