The Paros-Antiparos Hoteliers' Association strengthens cooperation with local producers

The Paros-Antiparos Hoteliers’ Association strengthens cooperation with local producers for Sustainable Tourism Development. In this context, a working meeting of the Association with the island’s producers was held, in collaboration with the Rural Welfare Committee of the Municipality of Paros.

The aim of the meeting was to strengthen communication and cooperation between professionals in the tourism and agricultural sectors, through the presentation of their work. Through the discussion, ways of cooperation and mutual support were explored, with the aim of strengthening local production and highlighting the cultural and gastronomic identity of the islands. The partnership between the two sectors is a decisive step for the sustainable tourism development of Paros and Antiparos.

During the event, producers had the opportunity to present their products, express their concerns, and propose ideas for possible synergies. At the same time, the Hoteliers’ Association presented detailed data on the islands’ hotel potential and the specific characteristics of the region’s tourism product.

Paris Tsartas, Emeritus Professor of Tourism Development at Harokopio University, and Efthymia Sarantakou, Associate Professor of Tourism Management at the University of West Attica, actively participated in the discussion and offered their knowledge and experience, analyzing current trends in the field of tourism and local development.

The meeting was also attended by the Mayor of Paros, Konstantinos Bizas, who developed the positions and initiatives of the Municipality regarding the strengthening of the primary sector and its connection with tourism, underlining the importance of local production as an integral part of the tourist experience.
