- Exclusive Development Agreement Supports Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and Enhances Accessibility of Travel Across the Country
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchise with approximately 9,300 hotels in more than 95 countries, has signed an exclusive development agreement with Le Park Concord to introduce the iconic Super 8® by Wyndham brand to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. With a goal of opening 100 hotels over the next decade, the agreement reinforces Wyndham’s long-term commitment to developing quality, accessible, and sustainable hospitality in the region.
The signing of the agreement was made with the active support of the Saudi Ministry of Tourism, confirming the alignment of the initiative with the Kingdom’s national tourism goals.
Le Park Concord is a leading Saudi hotel operator and developer, currently managing over 900 rooms across 13 hotels, with 13 more hotels under development, expected to add over 2,000 rooms to its growing portfolio.
Mr. Dimitris Manikis, President, Europe, Middle East, Eurasia and Africa, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, said: “The entry of Super 8 into Saudi Arabia is a strategic move to enhance accessibility to quality and affordable travel. As tourism accelerates and millions of travelers visit the country each year, the demand for reliable, affordable accommodation is increasing, whether for business or leisure. Our partnership with Le Park Concord allows us to meet this demand, introducing a trusted brand to key cities and key road network locations. We look forward to bringing Super 8’s signature combination of affordable prices, stylish comfort and sustainable, contemporary design to one of the region’s most dynamic markets.”
As Saudi Arabia rapidly transforms under Vision 2030, Wyndham and Le Park Concord are poised to meet the growing demand for quality, affordable accommodations from both international visitors and the growing number of domestic travelers. In 2024 alone, the Kingdom welcomed 30 million international tourists, a 9.5% increase over the previous year, and according to the Saudi Ministry of Tourism, this number is expected to reach 150 million annually by the end of the decade.
Under the agreement, the first Super 8® hotel is expected to open in 2026. There are also plans for future hotel locations along major highways and in key urban and transportation hubs, including Riyadh, Jeddah, Mecca, Medina, Al Khobar/Dammam, and surrounding areas. Many of the properties will feature smart, modular construction and environmentally friendly design, in line with both brands’ commitment to efficiency, sustainability, and guest comfort.
Supporting a National Vision
Saudi Arabia’s strategic location, demographic growth, and growing appeal to religious, leisure, and business travelers have made the country a rapidly growing tourism destination. Despite this growth, the presence of brand-name economy hotels remains limited. According to Knight Frank, only 6% of the country’s hotel development pipeline is in the economy and mid-range segments, creating a significant gap in supply that Super 8® is well positioned to fill.
For his part, Mr. Fiaz Tala Alenezi, CEO, Le Park Concord Company, said: “Saudi Arabia’s tourism development under Vision 2030 creates a clear need for more branded economy hotels. Our partnership with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts allows us to fill this gap by combining our deep knowledge of the local market with strong and trusted international standards, as well as the guarantee of Wyndham Rewards, one of the most trusted loyalty programs in the world. Together, we will offer affordable and quality accommodation to meet the needs of a rapidly expanding number of guests.”
