Two permits for floating platforms were approved by the competent bodies for placement in mthe arine areas of Anavyssos and Chania.
Specifically, the General Secretariat of Ports, Port Policy and Maritime Investments, approved the placement of a floating platform, with a total area of 36.01 sq.m. in the marine area in front of the VINCCI EVEREDEN BEACH RESORT HOTEL, with the aim of using it as a starting point and parking for motorized and non-marine recreational vehicles, on behalf of the company PYRAMIS HOTELS – TOURIST ENTERPRISE S.A. and for seasonal use up to 9 months.
It is noted that the floating platform should be placed at a safe distance from any port projects located or being constructed in the specific sea area, as well as from maritime hazards, especially shipwrecks, areas where tides are observed, etc. In addition, the floating platform should not impede safe navigation or be located within navigable channels and sea lanes, as well as in areas where submarine cables and pipelines are laid.
At the same time, the General Secretariat of Ports, Port Policy and Maritime Investments approved the placement of a floating platform, with an area of 70.52 sq.m. in the sea area in front of the Leptos Panorama Hotel in Kato Galatas in Chania, for the purpose of providing access for bathers to a difficult sea area near the coast, on behalf of the company KARKAVATSOS AND CO. TOURIST ENTERPRISES SOLE-PERSON S.A. and for seasonal use up to 9 months.
The service of access to and from the floating platform will be provided by the installation and use of an access corridor consisting of two sections and which is connected to the floating platform and the land with a simple foundation. In addition, the floating platform will be placed without intervention on the shore.
It is noted that, among other things, the use of the floating platform for the installation and operation of restaurants or entertainment centers is not permitted, nor can it serve as permanent boat moorings or for advertising purposes. Also, in the event of finding ancient or cultural objects during the installation of the floating platform, those responsible for the project must stop and immediately notify the Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities.
