Grecotel, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, celebrated its long-standing presence in Corfu with a special event of honor and gratitude. The evening was dedicated to the local community that has supported its vision over the years and to the people who are the soul of Grecotel.
The anniversary celebration took place on Tuesday, July 29, in the traditional village of Danilia, which Grecotel has highlighted as a unique center of culture and hospitality, with respect for the history and architecture of the place.
The founder of Grecotel,. Nikos Daskalantonakis, as well as the Managing Director, Mari Daskalantonaki, welcomed the guests and personally conveyed the Group’s “thank you” to the people of Corfu, in the presence of the Governor of the Ionian Islands, Ioannis Trepeklis, the Mayors of Corfu and North Corfu, Stefanos Poulimenos and Giorgos Machimaris respectively, the Rector of the Ionian University, Andreas Floros and the distinguished representatives of the island.
The main protagonists of the evening were the Philharmonic Societies of Corfu: “Palea”, “Mantzaros”, “Spyros Samaras” and “Kapodistrias” with 150 musicians, who flooded the space with melodic sounds, honoring the tradition and cultural memory of the island.
As a sign of recognition of their valuable contribution to the cultural identity of Corfu, the Nikos Daskalantonakis Foundation – Grecotel announced its support for the island’s philharmonic societies, strengthening their great work and its continuity for future generations.
The event was attended by all the Group’s employees with over 20 years of service and retirees, associates and local organizations, in an environment that reflects Grecotel’s vision: hospitality, culture, ethos and progress.
“Corfu is an integral part of our history. Tonight is a small sample of the return of the undivided love and trust that we have received over the years. It is a celebration of the heart and gratitude,” said the CEO of Grecotel Group, Marie Daskalantonaki.
Grecotel’s 50th anniversary in Corfu marks not only a successful journey, but also a deep connection with the local communities. The celebrations will continue in other destinations where the Group operates, as a sign of gratitude to the people who are the foundation of the Group’s history and success.
