Delays in completing the renovation of the former Aldiana Kreta have once again caused the hotel, located near Mochlos in the eastern part of Crete, to open its doors on March 27, 2026, Dertour Group announced. The resort was due to open this summer under the new name Ananea Rocrita.
The unit operated as Aldiana Kreta from 2013 to 2022, with 170 rooms at the time. The investment currently underway will transform the hotel into a five-star resort with more than 360 boho-style rooms, many of which will be swim-up bungalows in two-story buildings. The complex will also include six restaurants, three bars, a spa and fitness center, a new Activity Park, four floodlit tennis courts and padel courts.

Customer options
According to Dertour, guests who had booked packages at Ananea Rocrita have already been transferred to “different, at least equivalent hotels.” The options include Iberostar Selection Creta Marine, Iberostar Waves Creta Panorama & Mare, Domes Aulus Elounda, Curio Collection by Hilton and other accommodations.
Those who do not wish to be transferred to another hotel can reschedule their stay at Ananea Rocrita for a date between March 27 and November 2, 2026. In this case, the original agreed prices will apply, with a discount of 350 euros per reservation.
Customers who do not accept either solution have the option to cancel for free and receive a €250 voucher for a future booking at a Dertour group property.
As touristik actuell reports, there was also a delay last winter at Aldiana Club Naga Bay, which was completed after several months of construction delays. This caused dissatisfaction in the sales department, as did the short-term closure of Aldiana Sid
