Two public benefit foundations – for which their establishment has been approved – include among their assets properties that operate or have operated hotels.
These are the BAGEION FOUNDATION and the Foundation named PARI AND STAVROULAS OF KORONAIOU.
The purposes of the Baggio Foundation are:
-The provision of financial assistance for illness, poverty and old age to people originating from Northern Epirus.
– The provision of scholarships for internal secondary school students, higher education students and university students originating from Northern Epirus.
– The payment of annual grants to the Amalienion Girls’ Boarding School, the Athens General Hospital “Evangelismos” and the Athens General Hospital “Elpis”.
– The payment of grants for national or charitable projects by decision of the Board of Directors of the foundation.
The foundation’s property includes the following properties with hotel interest:
– A 4-storey building at the intersection of Pl. 19 Omonias and 69 Athinas (former MEGAS ALEXANDROS hotel), consisting of a basement, ground floor with loft, three floors and a roof, with a total area of ??4,101 sq m, on a plot of land of 1,026.10 sq m.
– 4-storey building at the intersection of 18 Omonias Square and 64 Athinas (former BAGGEION Hotel), consisting of a basement, ground floor with loft, three floors and a roof, with a total area of ??3,734 sq m, on a plot of land of 772.94 sq m.
– 5-storey building at 57 Athinas, 23 Sophocleous and 8 Armodiou streets, (former OLYMPIAS hotel), consisting of basement B’, basement A’, ground floor with loft, 4 floors, attic A’ and attic B’, with a total area of ??4,804 sq m, on a plot of land of 637.51 sq m.
– 5-storey building at 12 Armodiou street (former ESTIA hotel), consisting of basement, ground floor, mezzanine, 4 floors and attic, with a total area of ??851 sq m, on a plot of land of 131.42 sq m.
The objectives of the Foundation under the name PARI AND STAVROULAS KORONAIOU are to sponsor charitable projects and to offer all kinds of public services to the Greek people, among which are:
– The provision of scholarships to young, excellent students, undergraduates and students or others who have the desire to study but do not have the financial means, especially residents of Vilia, Attica.
– The assumption of expenses not covered by insurance companies, for medical, pharmaceutical and hospital care in Greece and abroad, both for employees and other persons in need.
– Assistance to people with disabilities.
The strengthening of scientific research and the promotion of science, letters and arts and, indicatively, the utilization and concession of the theater named “P. KORONAIOS” in Vilia, Attica for the creation of cultural associations, both in the wider region of Western Attica, and to any third party wishing to organize scientific conferences of any form, as well as the strengthening of the efforts of contemporary artists by the concession of this for cultural events with the aim of promoting science and art.
Among the properties with hotel interest of the Foundation is the real estate of the company named “P. KORONAIOS HOTEL ENTERPRISES S.A.”, namely 2 hotels with their
equipment, located in Vilia, Attica. These are the VERORI hotel, on 69 Sakellariou Street, with a total area of ??main and auxiliary spaces of 2,923.98 sq m. on a plot of land of 4,345.70 sq m. and the NEO VERORI hotel, at the end of Sakellariou Street, with a total area of ??main and auxiliary spaces of 1,067.64 sq m. on a plot of land of 1,803.30 sq m. and 664.00 sq m.
