Businesses in the tourism and food industry in various regions of the country were under the microscope of the Interdepartmental Market Control Unit (DIMEA), in the context of inspections for compliance with the rules for the movement and marketing of products and the provision of services, in accordance with law 4177/2013 and Ministerial Decision 91354/30.08.2017 (DIMEA Rules).
Among the companies whose violations were confirmed in September 2025, is “Tsangari Hotel Construction Co., Ltd.”, owner of the Sirakgast Ionian Sea Apartments accommodation on Vrachos beach in Preveza. According to the document, the fine amounted to 1,000 euros.
At this point, it should be emphasized that the imposition of fines by DIMEA is part of the State’s continuous effort to ensure legality and transparency in the market, as well as to protect the consumer. At the same time, the tourism sector in Epirus is experiencing strong growth, with Preveza recording a significant increase in arrivals and new accommodations in recent years, which makes the need for continuous supervision and compliance with operating rules imperative.
It is worth noting that the same bulletin also includes fines on catering, retail and supermarket businesses, including in areas of Crete, Attica and Thesprotia, reflecting the scope of controls throughout the country.
