The Crete Hoteliers Association in search of new markets – Manolis Stamatakis in T.N.

The Crete Hoteliers Association is in a phase of reorientation and new planning for the future of tourism on the island, with its president Manolis Stamatakis pointing out that in the coming period, special emphasis will be placed on the search and activation of new visitor markets that will provide added value to the island and at the same time respond to the challenges created in the flagship of Greek tourism.

As he stated to Tornos News, “we must see new markets that we must activate as Crete, in order to meet the demands created by the entry of new large and luxurious hotel units”. He noted that “in the next two years there will be a need for a large number of new visitors, as new investments raise the bar and require an expansion of tourist demand”.

At this point, it should be emphasized that the Association has set as its main goal the unified promotion strategy of Crete and the promotion of Cretan hospitality through targeted extroversion actions. “We gathered from all the prefectures of Crete with the aim of taking the island a little further,” Mr. Stamatakis pointed out, underlining that cooperation is the key to the sustainability and strengthening of the competitiveness of the destination.

At the same time, the Hoteliers Association of Crete is in close cooperation with the Region of Crete and local bodies, in order to form a new framework for promoting the island in strategic foreign markets. The president of the Association emphasized that in the immediate future “there will be tangible results and actions that will show the new dynamics of Cretan hospitality.”

Crete, moreover, continues to be one of the top destinations in the Mediterranean, however, competition is intensifying and, as Mr. Stamatakis underlined, “the next day requires strategy, innovation and collective effort to maintain the lead.”
