The criteria and conditions for awarding the “Pet-friendly Tourist Accommodation Label” are determined by a Joint Ministerial Decree of the Ministries of National Economy, Interior and Tourism.
According to the Decision, for the awarding of the “Pet-friendly Tourist Accommodation Label”, the accommodation must have special bedrooms (pet-rooms), in which the pet can stay with its owner and which must meet the following minimum specifications:
a) They must have durable and easily cleaned floors.
b) Carpet: In case there is a carpet in the bedroom, it does not cover the entire surface of the bedroom and can be easily detached. The use of permanently installed carpet (e.g. carpeting) in this type of bedroom is prohibited.
c) Furnishing fabrics and mattresses: The fabrics selected for the furnishing of bedrooms must be waterproof and/or water resistant. A waterproof cover may be placed on the mattresses.
d) Electrical installation and lighting: Electrical sockets must have an openable protective cover (lid) or a special protective cover (plug). Bedside lamps (lamps) must be wall-mounted.
e) Indoor plants: The placement of indoor plants is prohibited.
f) Special utensils for the living of the pet in the bedroom. A minimum of a feeder, a waterer, a cat litter box (preferably a closed type) and a shovel for cleaning the litter are required.
One to three pets, dogs or cats, are allowed per bedroom. The owners ensure that if the animals are left unattended in the bedroom, they will not cause damage or injury to mobile or fixed equipment of the tourist accommodation and will not disturb the peace of the other guests in the accommodation. Damage or injury is understood to be that which is not consistent with the intended use of the special room (pet-room).
After each stay of a customer with their pet, thorough cleaning, disinfection, good ventilation and deodorization are carried out, while all bed linen (including blanket or duvet cover in the case of a duvet and mattress cover) are mandatory replaced with clean bed linen.
