High occupancy rates continue to shape the demand for the new lifestyle hotel NYX Hotel Thessaloniki by Leonardo Hotels & Resorts Mediterranean, two months after the start of its operation, justifying Leonardo’s investment in Thessaloniki as a strategic hub with dynamic developments in international tourism.
The hotel records 100% occupancy on Fridays and weekends, while operating at 75–80% on weekdays, confirming the positive response of the market.
Speaking at an official event organized at the hotel for representatives of organizations and SMEs, the CEO of Leonardo Hotels & Resorts Mediterranean, Mr. Roni Aloni stated: “Thessaloniki has a unique heritage of coexistence of creativity and energy. For us, it is not just a city where we invest, but a strategic hub with the potential to develop into a reference point for international tourism.
NYX Thessaloniki was immediately connected to this energy and we want it to be a key catalyst for the city’s next day. We are investing with a long-term perspective, because we truly believe in the city’s potential.”
NYX operates as an open urban core: a restaurant, bar and breakfast buffet are also available to Thessalonians, with the hotel maintaining an inclusive philosophy.
Beyond hospitality, NYX introduces a new lifestyle model to Thessaloniki that unites design, art, urban culture and nightlife. The immediate program includes open exhibitions, urban activations and collaborations with local creators, strengthening its role as a cultural and social meeting point.
The operation of NYX has revitalized Emporio Square, while the hotel has already created over 70 direct jobs, a number that is increasing with the events and activations it hosts.
In addition, over 70% of its team is made up of women, many of whom hold leadership positions, confirming the culture of equal opportunities that characterizes Leonardo.
The Mayor of Thessaloniki, Mr. Stelios Angeloudis, stated that NYX “is another vote of confidence in the sustainable tourism perspective of Thessaloniki. With the dynamic of the Leonardo Hotels & Resorts Mediterranean Group, it offers high-level hospitality in a space that simultaneously functions as a multi-space for Art and Culture. In a city that is changing and highlighting its multicultural past along with its new, modern face, the creation of new quality accommodation options essentially strengthens the common effort for its tourism renaissance.”
The Fattal Group’s philosophy is based on three main pillars: authentic experience, contemporary design and a deep understanding of the modern traveler. Its portfolio includes five distinct brands (Leonardo Hotels, Leonardo Royal, Leonardo Boutique, Leonardo Limited Edition and the lifestyle brand NYX Hotels) that offer unique experiences in 21 countries and more than 300 hotels in total worldwide.
In Greece and Cyprus, Leonardo Hotels & Resorts Mediterranean has already created 11 hotels (4 in Greece and 7 in Cyprus), with the aim of reaching 15 by 2026. Each new investment is based on strategic market analysis, respect for local culture and the goal of a commitment to sustainable development with a positive impact on society and the economy.
