Meliá Hotels International: 23 new hotels in 2026

Meli? Hotels International, Spain’s leading hotel group and the third largest in Europe, is accelerating its dynamic growth with 23 new hotels already scheduled for 2026, enhancing its luxury and lifestyle brands. From Southeast Asia to South America and from Europe to the Indian Ocean, Meli? will offer its unique Spanish hospitality in some of the world’s most impressive destinations.

The announcement follows a landmark year for the company in 2025, during which many flagship properties were inaugurated, such as ME by Meli? in Malta, Lisbon, Marbella and M?laga, Paradisus by Meli? in Fuerteventura, and ZEL Punta Cana, the first lifestyle all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean created in collaboration with tennis legend Rafael Nadal. Building on this momentum, Meli? will present in 2026 a new generation of hotels “with soul”, renewing its existing portfolio through rebranding and repositioning, offering experiences that combine high luxury with responsible and strategic global development.

Luxury destinations from Bali to the Seychelles

In 2026, Meli? will bring its signature Mediterranean hospitality to some of the world’s most sought-after destinations. Among the most anticipated openings is Paradisus Bali, the brand’s first hotel in Southeast Asia, which opened its doors on the shores of Nusa Dua earlier this month.

Gran Meli? Dubai

At Paradisus Bali, the brand’s new philosophy “Wellness Designed by Destination” stands at the heart of the experience, seamlessly integrating the island’s healing traditions, mindfulness rituals and sensory landscapes to create a holistic experience for guests. From spa treatments inspired by Balinese wellness practices to movement sessions that follow the island’s natural energy flow, guests are invited to reconnect with themselves, their loved ones and the rhythm of Bali.

In the leisure realm, the resort will offer the brand’s signature “Destination Inclusive®” program, giving guests the opportunity to discover the culture and beauty of the island through curated activities both inside and outside the resort. Experiences include the timeless melukat cleansing ritual, where Bali’s sacred waters purify, heal and rejuvenate; nature connections at the Tibumana waterfall; guided visits to the temples of Uluwatu, Tanah Lot or Taman Ayun; and family evenings at the Devdan Show at the Nusa Dua Theatre, a vibrant celebration of Indonesian culture through dance, music and acrobatics.

ME M?laga

Following the inauguration of Paradisus Bali, 2026 marks the return of a legend in Mexico with the reopening of Paradisus Canc?n in April, following a transformative year-long renovation. The renewed resort now stands as one of the brand’s most complete expressions in the luxury all-inclusive category, where contemporary elegance meets the authentic identity of the Yucat?n Peninsula, with a strong focus on families. Based on the “Wellness Designed by Destination” philosophy, Paradisus Canc?n draws inspiration from local rituals, natural materials and the serenity of the sea in every moment, while the “Destination Inclusive®” program enriches the stay with explorations of sacred cenotes and activities that connect guests with the art and heritage of the Maya, encouraging participation across all ages.

These openings respond to the steadily rising demand from travelers seeking relaxing, all-inclusive escapes that allow them to reconnect with nature, culture and themselves. Paradisus Bali and Paradisus Canc?n join the international collection of Paradisus by Meli?, which includes award-winning resorts in the Caribbean and the Canary Islands, from Lanzarote and Gran Canaria to Fuerteventura, all designed to offer guests an authentic experience of the destination while enhancing personal well-being.

In Dubai, in the Jumeirah area, Gran Meli? Dubai Jumeirah will open on 1 December 2026, offering panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf and the city’s skyline, direct access to the marina, and a curated collection of signature restaurants, wellness facilities and spacious event venues.

In the Seychelles, Meli? will make its debut with a complex combining a 120-room hotel with branded residences, a rooftop bar overlooking Eden Island and St. Anne Marine Park, and numerous leisure facilities, creating a new standard of integrated resort experience in the region.

The year 2026 will also mark the opening of Meli? Collection’s first luxury resort in the Maldives, in the scenic Baa Atoll, offering unmatched access to the archipelago’s rich marine life and world-class diving sites.

Unique stories

As part of the expansion of its boutique luxury brand, The Meli? Collection, the inclusion of MiM Hotels owned by global football star Lionel Messi represents a strategic milestone, affirming the brand’s commitment to high-experience hospitality. The six distinct MiM properties in Sitges, Sotogrande, Mallorca, Ibiza, Baqueira Beret and Andorra reflect Messi’s personal vision of contemporary luxury, with elegant design, curated collectible pieces and a strong emphasis on sustainability and well-being. Through this collaboration, MiM Hotels retain their identity while leveraging Meli?’s global reach, distribution network and expertise.

MIM Baqueira, Meli? Collection

Beyond MiM Hotels, The Meli? Collection will welcome in 2026 a series of historic hotels designed to capture the true spirit of their destinations. In Buenos Aires, Casa Lucia has been fully renovated, inviting guests to rediscover the iconic Mihanovich Building in the Retiro district. Its design pays tribute to Argentina’s golden age, offering a luxurious experience deeply rooted in local history and architecture. Confirming the brand’s commitment to high-end luxury experiences in South America, The Meli? Collection has also announced Terrazas del Guit?rrez in Patagonia. The 99-room hotel, expected to open in 2028, will be located in Bariloche and provide access to the region’s stunning mountain landscapes.

Residenza del Cardinale Milan will combine historic architecture with contemporary elegance in the heart of Milan, offering from 2026 a refined cultural destination for design and fashion enthusiasts. The hotel will feature a fine dining restaurant overseen by renowned Italian chef Carlo Zarri, specializing in Piedmont cuisine.

In Andalusia, the new Collection hotels in Ronda and Estepona will highlight the dramatic landscapes and rich Moorish heritage of each region, offering travelers a unique approach to exploring southern Spain and its vibrant local gastronomic traditions. Hacienda del Mar, Bahia Estepona, which first opened in 1999 under the patronage of Prince Alfonso of Hohenlohe, becomes the group’s fifth luxury hotel in Andalusia and stands out as a striking gem on the radiant shores of the Costa del Sol. From its tropical gardens to its imposing entrance, every space tells its own story, making the hotel a distinguished addition to The Meli? Collection after its complete renovation and rebranding.

In C?diz, Spain, Casa Alameda revives an 18th-century Baroque palace residence originally built for the Marchioness of Casa Reca?o and listed as architectural heritage. Following careful restoration, the two adjacent buildings will be transformed into a 36-room boutique retreat overlooking Alameda Apodaca.

On the island of Gozo in Malta, the brand is launching new hotels in San Lawrenz and Rabat, each with its own unique narrative, further enhancing the island’s reputation as a vibrant cultural hub of curated luxury. With just 15 and 17 rooms respectively, these boutique retreats invite guests to experience the island’s weekly festivals, scenic hiking trails and top dive sites. Collectively, the new investments reaffirm The Meli? Collection’s commitment to elevating high-end hospitality through curated storytelling and unique boutique experiences that go beyond the expected.

Renewing iconic brands

As Meli? strengthens the presence of its luxury and lifestyle brands, many of its hotels worldwide are being renewed, reintroduced and relaunched. Following the successful renovations of ME Marbella and Paradisus Fuerteventura in 2025, in 2026 the ZEL properties in Crete, Fuerteventura and Madrid will join the lifestyle portfolio. These projects exemplify Meli?’s strategy of fully leveraging existing assets, aligning them with the expectations of the modern luxury traveler while preserving the unique identity and spirit of each destination.

Meli? collaborates closely with leading designers such as ASAH Studio, whose work reflects a deep understanding of the modern luxury traveler and how design can create unforgettable hospitality experiences. Through these collaborations, each renovation elevates not only aesthetic quality but also the unified brand identity across all Meli? luxury brands worldwide, allowing each hotel to tell its own story and highlight its cultural context.

Values with positive impact

Sustainability remains a fundamental pillar of Meli?’s development. The refreshed “Travel For Good” program reflects the Group’s ambition to offer luxury experiences that go beyond economic value, emphasizing environmental care, cultural heritage preservation and empowerment of local communities. ESG principles are integrated into every aspect of hotel operations, from carbon-neutral initiatives to partnerships supporting education and culture, underscoring Meli?’s commitment to leaving a positive impact in every destination where it operates.

This strategy has earned Meli? international recognition, achieving third place in the World’s Most Trustworthy Companies 2025 ranking by Newsweek and Statista, affirming the company’s transparency and ethical business approach.

Andr? Gerondeau, Chief Operating Officer of Meli? Hotels International, stated, “The year 2026 opens a new chapter for the redefined luxury and lifestyle travel experience. Each new hotel is more than a place to stay; it is a gateway to authentic cultural discovery, personal transformation and unforgettable experiences. Spanish hospitality is the soul of our brand and, as we continue to expand, whether through strategic new openings or extensive renovations, we remain committed to sharing it with the world in a responsible and purposeful way.”
