Cheaper holidays for Brits in Greek islands of Kos, Kefalonia and Zakynthos this year

Reduced prices for British holidaymakers on the Greek islands of Kos, Kefalonia and Zakynthos this year indicate booking data recorded by On the Beach platform.

In particular, prices are 11% lower in Kos compared to last summer, 8% cheaper in Kefalonia and 5% in Zakynthos.

Spain remains the most popular destination for the British this year, too, with Tenerife, Costa Blanca, Lantarote and Ibiza being the top choices.

Greece is the second most popular destination, and Turkey ranks third.

Greece’s Halkidiki is the fastest growing destination among the Brits, after Sicily and Sardinia.

On the Beach Marketing Dircector Alan Harding said: “Spain once again dominates the market, but other destinations such as Greece, Portugal and Malta prove to be very popular this year. Reservation data also show that Turkey is rising and its popularity is expected to continue to grow. Greece is a very attractive option for those looking for great value, as holidays on many islands are cheaper this summer compared to last year. “
