AP: Israeli’s COVID-19 vaccine green passports give Cyprus green light

Αssociated Press reports from Nicosia that their country far ahead of the lagging European Union in a COVID-19 vaccination campaign, Israeli tourists will be allowed into Cyprus as of April 1 even during the pandemic amid plans to gradually open to more foreign travelers.

Cyprus will recognize Israeli Green Passports, Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi announced, said The Jerusalem Post after speaking with Cypriot Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides.

Greece will also open up to 10,000 vaccinated Israelis every week, Israeli media reported, and also won’t have to undergo COVID-19 testing or quarantine upon entry which is a disincentive for many travelers.

Israeli airlines and tourism firms have been quick to set up daily flights to a number of Greek destinations, said The Times of Israel, with Cyprus hoping international air traffic will pick up to allow more visitors from other countries.
