Representing the Hellenic Republic, Deputy Culture Minister Christos Dimas spoke at the World Culture Forum held in Beijing about the ties between Greece and China in the field of culture, ANA reports.
“The cultural relations between Greece and China have a long and rich history that dates back to antiquity. It is remarkable that the relations between the two countries go back to the past, but it is also remarkable how important their contribution and influence are to the development of world culture,” Dimas underlined.
The Beijing World Culture Forum is an initiative of China that attracts people of culture and tourism from many parts of the world. During his speech, the Deputy Minister of Culture said that the Forum is an opportunity to “promote the importance of our cultural heritage, not only as an object of awe and admiration but also as an inspiration and starting point for new cultural achievements.”
In particular, the goal of the Greek delegation in Beijing is the exchange of ideas and cultural practices between the two countries, as well as the promotion and greater extroversion of modern Greek culture.
He also stressed that the exchange of ideas and cultural practices between the two countries has enriched both cultures and contributed to the development of human civilization as a whole.
