President of Hellenic Republic meets with her Austrian counterpart in Vienna

Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou and Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen confirmed the close ties between Greece and Austria, and the countries’ common values and stances, during Tuesday’s official visit of the Greek president in Vienna.

In a press conference following their meeting, the Austrian president praised Greece’s economic development and its strategic location in the energy sector, while Sakellaropoulou underlined the two countries’ harmonious collaboration at the European Union, the United Nations, and other international organizations. In addition, both expressed their support for the future accession of Western Balkan countries in the European Union.
