Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni paid a visit to the Tourism Expo Japan 2024 and the kiosk of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) in Tokyo on Thursday, ANA reports.
Kefalogianni is visiting Japan in the context of a targeted action plan to upgrade Greek-Japanese relations. The Expo comes at the end of a series of official events related to the Greece-Japan Year of Culture and Tourism 2024.
The Greek minister met in Tokyo with the president of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) Hiroyuki Takahashi and members of the JATA board, discussing the introduction of a direct flight connection between the two countries. Among other contacts, Kefalogianni also participated at the Minister’s Round Table Meeting with world tourism organizations including UNWTO, and held bilateral meetings with her counterparts from Montenegro and Bulgaria.
Kefalogianni also met with the commissioner of Cultural Issues of Japan, Shunichi Tokura, briefing him on events related to the Greece-Japan Year of Culture and Tourism.
