Spain, Turkey, Egypt, and Greece until November collectively account for 60% of the German market’s booking turnover for holidays in the 2024/2025 tourist year, according to booking data in traditional and online travel agencies presented by Travel Data + Analytics (TDA).
The messages from the German market for the season are encouraging, as pre-bookings for the summer and demand for the following winter months are developing very well.
The message for the new tourist year 2024/2025 is that despite the crisis and challenges, Germans continue to “invest” in travel. In November 2024, Germans made reservations for trips worth a total of 2 billion. euros, an amount increased by 9% compared to November 2023 and 56% of the reservations made this month concerned the 2025 summer season (May to September).
Overall, pre-reservations for 2025, which began in November, are up by 18%, compared to the corresponding season in 2023 (for 2024).
