American airline Delta Air Lines has added more flights on the Atlanta – Athens route to its 2025 summer schedule.
The carrier announced in late September 2024 that it would add 4 additional weekly flights to the route to Atlanta’s Hartfield Jackson International Airport in 2025, up from 7 in 2024, bringing the total to 11 per week.
However, according to the new plan, the weekly connections for the period from June 8 to September 7, 2025 increase to 13. Thus, based on the new data, for the 2025 high season Delta plans two daily flights between Atlanta and Athens, with the exception of Tuesdays.
In 2024, the carrier utilized the Airbus A350-900s fleet on this route, however, instead of the 339-seat A350s, in 2025 it will utilize the smaller-capacity wide-body Airbus A330-900s, with 281 seats.
Over 16,000 additional seats in the summer
However, thanks to the addition of frequencies, it will offer more seats in 2025. According to Cirium data, Delta will operate a total of 168 flights from June 1 to August 31, 2025, and will offer 47,208 seats during the summer months, compared to 92 flights and 31,188 seats in the corresponding period in 2024, i.e. 16,020 more seats.
The airline is planning the largest transatlantic flight schedule in its history for 2025, which includes 33 European destinations.
