Wizz Air resumes Tel Aviv – Athens flights

Low-cost airline Wizz Air is set to resume its connections from Tel Aviv to 10 additional destinations from January 15, including Athens.

In October, the Hungarian carrier announced the suspension of its flights to Israel until January, and the start of flights to Tel Aviv in December between Ben-Gurion Airport and Larnaca.

Thus, from January 15, Tel Aviv’s connections with Athens, Vienna, and Bucharest are expected to be restored, while flights to Abu Dhabi, Rome, Milan, London, Warsaw, Krakow, and Budapest will also be offered.

Wizz’s expansion of flight options to Israel marks significant progress in restoring international travel options to the country, which have been severely restricted since October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched its offensive against Israel.

Aegean has also resumed flights from Tel Aviv to Athens and Larnaca, with attractive fares.

LOT Polish Airlines has also resumed flights to Israel, with daily connections to Warsaw and a potential expansion in the future, and Air Europa, with flights to Madrid.

In parallel, Israel’s Israir Airlines continues to offer flights with leased Hello Jets Boeing 737-700/-800 aircraft on routes from Tel Aviv for the first quarter of 2025. These, for the period from January 8 to March 29, 2025, include one route to Athens and one to Larnaca.
