The interest of Dutch visitors to the exhibition attracted the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization’s stand at the International Tourism Fair “Vakantiebeurs 2025”, which took place from 9 to 12 January 2025 at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht.
This is one of the most important tourism fairs in Europe. This year it attracted over 100,000 visitors and more than 1,000 exhibitors, offering significant opportunities to meet Dutch and international travelers.
Vakantiebeurs 2025 was an excellent opportunity to showcase Thessaloniki as a multicultural destination with a rich history and a vibrant atmosphere. The interest of the visitors was particularly great and promising for the goal of increasing tourists from the Netherlands, with the help of Aegean and Transavia flights to and from the Netherlands, which take place throughout the year.
During the exhibition, many meetings were held to promote the destination, while visitors had the opportunity to learn about the city’s attractions, the activities offered, as well as accommodation and food options.
It is noted that the Netherlands, according to FRAPORT data for the MACEDONIA airport in 2024, is among the top ten countries of tourist arrivals in Thessaloniki.
The action was carried out in collaboration with the Region of Central Macedonia, with the support of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce.
