Tourist Organization of Halkidiki | The picture of bookings from the main markets

The machines of the Tourist Organization of Halkidiki (TOH) are working at full speed for the new tourist season, with its president Grigoris Tasios describing to Tornos News the network of actions that are running during this period.
The physical participation in international exhibitions, the upgrading of its online presence with digital marketing actions, as well as the collaborations with co-advertising with international Tour Operators make the T.O. Halkidiki the most productive organization in Greece that aims to increase tourist flows, as Mr. Tasios emphasizes.

In May, the TOH will have a new website, while its online campaign that invites foreign visitors to visit Halkidiki is already running. Meanwhile, co-advertising with international Tour Operators and airlines, such as Holiday Check, Jet 2, and Sunweb from the Netherlands, is also in full swing. At this point, Mr. Tasios reminds us, that TOX is in good cooperation with the tourist organizations of Thessaloniki, Pieria, but also with the Tourism Sub-Region.

Opening up to new markets

The Tourist Organization is fighting its own battle to enrich the palette of visitors beyond the established ones, from the Balkans and Europe. In fact, the hoteliers of Halkidiki have sent a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to start the procedures for issuing Visas from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, etc., since there is already significant interest from these countries for Halkidiki, especially from high-income customers.

In any case, the picture of bookings for Halkidiki so far is at last year’s levels. According to Mr. Tasios, the German market is at the same level, the English one has been deprived, while bookings from the Netherlands and Italy are gradually increasing, with the tone set by Easyjet and Aegean flights, which are gradually increasing. At the same time, Balkan visitors will support tourism in Northern Greece this year as well, as they have been doing without interruption for the last 20 years.
