Tourist traffic to our country amounted to 821.6 thousand travelers in January 2025, according to data from the Bank of Greece. This number represents an increase of 11.4% compared to the corresponding month of 2024.
Travel receipts increased by 7.5% compared to the corresponding month of 2024 and amounted to 302.2 million euros.
Regarding the main nationalities: 11.3%
Travel traffic from Germany increased by 35.3% and amounted to 95.0 thousand travelers, while that from France decreased by 45.2% and amounted to 23.3 thousand travelers. Travel traffic from Italy increased by 19.6%, reaching 45.8 thousand travelers. Regarding countries outside the EU-27, travel traffic from the United Kingdom increased by 110.7%, reaching 76.2 thousand travelers, while that from the USA amounted to 48.5 thousand travelers, down by 11.3%. Finally, travel traffic from Russia amounted to 0.6 thousand travelers.
Receipts from Germany increased by 16.2%, reaching 35.5 million euros, while receipts from France decreased by 47.3%, reaching 9.8 million euros. Receipts from Italy increased by 17.4%, reaching 22.9 million euros. Among other countries, receipts from the United Kingdom increased by 36.4%, reaching 25.3 million euros, as did receipts from the USA, which increased by 20.4%, reaching 40.9 million euros. Finally, receipts from Russia amounted to 1.6 million euros.
