GNTO at Travel Expo Cyprus 2025 | Increasing travel flow from Cyprus to Greece

With the further strengthening of the tourism cooperation between Greece and Cyprus and the more intensive promotion of our country as a destination that combines authenticity, diversity and accessibility throughout the year, the participation of the Greek National Tourism Organization in the 26th Travel Expo Cyprus 2025, which took place from 25 to 27 April 2025, was completed.

As established by the contacts of the Greek side with the representatives of the Cypriot tourism market, for February of this year alone there was an increase in the travel flow from Cyprus to Greece by 8.9%, which demonstrates the continuous dynamics of the Greek tourism product and the stable preference of Cypriot travelers for our country.

The 80 sq.m. The GNTO pavilion, with co-exhibitors from the Regions of North Aegean, Central Greece, Central Macedonia, Epirus and Ionian Islands, the Municipalities of Volos and Patmos and a hotel unit in Halkidiki, attracted a large number of Cypriot and foreign visitors, who had the opportunity to learn about Greece as a sustainable tourist destination and, overall, about the high quality of the Greek tourist product.

Promotion of Central Greece and a public relations event

During the exhibition, a special event was held to promote the natural and cultural resources of Central Greece, with the simultaneous presentation of the delicious options it offers and its rich winemaking tradition.

Furthermore, the Cyprus National Tourism Organization (GNTO) Service organized a public relations event, with the guests including the Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Cyprus, Costas Koumis, the Ambassador of Greece to Cyprus, Ioannis Papameletiou, the President of ACTTA, Haris Papacharalambous, and the Bishop of Mesaoria, Grigorios, from the Archdiocese of Cyprus, as well as representatives of the tourism and travel industry of the two countries.

The event provided the opportunity for a substantive exchange of views and exploration of new areas of cooperation in the tourism sector between the two countries, with the aim of strengthening the tourist flow, exchanging good practices and promoting sustainable forms of tourism development.

This year’s 26th Travel Expo Cyprus was, for yet another year, the field for strengthening tourism activity and networking among industry professionals, while simultaneously highlighting Cyprus as a crossroads of tourism developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.
