The number of direct flights from the United Kingdom and Germany, respectively, to eight major tourist destinations in our country has increased by 7% and 5% compared to 2024 levels, which reinforces positive forecasts for the year.
According to data obtained exclusively by Tornos News from aviation analysis company Cirium, the number of flights from the United Kingdom to the 8 Greek destinations (Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Corfu, Rhodes, Kos, Mykonos, and Santorini) has increased by 1,674 flights, reaching 25,823, compared to 24,149 last year.
The largest increase in flights from the UK is recorded in Rhodes (+15%), with a total of 5,086, followed by Heraklion with a 13.5% increase and a total of 3,891 flights.
Increases are noted in both major urban centers, Athens and Thessaloniki, of the order of +7.5% (6,614 flights) and +4.4% (1,527 flights) respectively.
Also, Corfu and Kos show a single-digit increase compared to last year, amounting to 7.5% and 6.2% respectively, with a total of 4,688 and 2,369 flights for each airport.
However, Santorini and Mykonos show a decrease of 24.6% and 14.6% respectively, with the total number of flights in Santorini reaching 1,054 compared to 1,399 last year and in Mykonos at 594 compared to 696 in 2024.
19% more flights from Germany to Corfu
From Germany, 1,295 more flights are recorded this year than last year, with their total in 2025 amounting to 27,618.
The largest percentage increase in the number of flights from Germany is recorded in Corfu and is of the order of +19.3%, as the island’s airport welcomes 414 more this year than in 2024, and a total of 2,558 flights.
Mykonos follows, with 10.2% more flights than last year, at 280 compared to 254 in 2024, Thessaloniki with 5,570 flights (+7%), Heraklion with 6,538 flights (+5%), Kos with 2,236 flights (+4%,) and Rhodes with 3,066 flights (+3.6%).
The number of flights to Athens remained at almost constant levels with last year (7,021 compared to 7,015 in 2024), while flights to Santorini show a decrease of 5.1% and stand at 349 for 2025.
