Crete is among the seven most suitable destinations in Europe for year-round vacations, according to the Spanish version of Time Out. The international website ranks Crete in 5th place, after Malta, Nice in France, Madeira in Portugal, and Cyprus.
As stated in the tribute, “Crete has wonderful beaches such as Seitan Limania, a strip of turquoise waters between unique rock formations. It also stands out for its wonderful seaside towns, with Chania as a representative example, which “steal” impressions with their famous colorful facades. The archaeological monuments of Crete are also unique in the world. A visit to the Palace of Knossos is enough to leave an indelible mark on your memory.”
Next on the list are Sardinia in Italy and the Canary Islands. Speaking generally about Greece, the popular website points out that “this beloved Mediterranean paradise does not follow the same rhythms during the winter months. The festive atmosphere and the crowds on the Greek islands pass the baton to absolute peace and tranquility.
However, for those seeking to escape crowded centers and hordes of tourists, this option is ideal. Although many of the most popular summer services will not be available, the sunsets in Greece will be equally magical, and swimming in the sea will perhaps be a dream experience.”
It is recalled that Crete was ranked 9th in the list of the top 25 destinations worldwide in the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards 2025. These awards were based on traveler reviews. At the same time, Elafonisi beach was named the top beach in the world for 2025, standing out for its pink sand and crystal clear waters.
