Karpathos: Penetration into the Italian Market

With the aim of strengthening Karpathos’ presence in the Italian tourism market, the municipality of Karpathos welcomed on Saturday, June 22, the director of the Greek National Tourist Organization of Italy, Kyriaki Boulasidou, in the context of an official visit. The visit, as emphasized, marks a targeted strategy of extroversion, is part of the broader plan to strengthen the international image of Karpathos, and was accompanied by the presence of important stakeholders of the Italian tourism market.

During a working meeting held yesterday, Monday, June 23, at the Town Hall, proposals were discussed for:

  • The targeted approach to the Italian market,
  • The development of thematic tourism products (authentic travel, hiking, cultural tourism),
  • The extension of the tourist season,
  • The strengthening of B2B partnerships and tourist flows through fam trips and co-marketing activities in Italy.

The mission’s visit is accompanied by an organized tour of the island, in order for the Italian professionals to gain a direct insight into the tourism product of Karpathos and the investment opportunities it offers.

As noted by the Mayor of Karpathos, Michael Kon. Fellouzis, “the presence of Ms. Boulasidou and the Italian tourism professionals is a vote of confidence in the potential of our destination. We are working in coordination to create sustainable partnerships that will strengthen the Karpathos brand in Italy and support the local economy with targeted high-quality tourist flows.”
