The authenticity, gastronomy, natural beauty, and cultural richness of selected Greek destinations were showcased in leading Dutch and Belgian media and digital platforms, following a series of familiarization trips (press and fam trips) recently organized by the GNTO Netherlands.
The blog Mediterraneanonmymind.nl published an extensive tribute to Athens and the Athenian Riviera, focusing on the urban culture, history, and dynamics of a city break trip to the Greek capital and the wider region. The tribute is to be republished in September on linda.nl, one of the most popular lifestyle and women’s portals in the Netherlands.
Lifestyle platform DailyNonsense.nl, in a series of articles and Instagram reels, showcased the undiscovered side of Santorini through its authentic experiences, emphasizing affordable local options, cooking classes, unknown villages, secret beaches, and hiking trails. The trip was made possible with the support of the Municipality of Santorini.
With impressive images from the Volos and Pelion region, highlighting the culture, natural landscape, gastronomy, outdoor activities, and beautiful villages, the Dutch favorite account @Grieksblauw (“Greek Blue”), which is entirely dedicated to promoting Greece to the Dutch public, flooded Instagram. The trip was organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Volos and included visits to traditional tsipouradikas, the Athanasakeion Archaeological Museum and the coastal zone of Volos, the historical Pelion train, sea excursions to caves and beaches, as well as local gastronomy lessons at a traditional farm.
Finally, in the near future, the weekly Belgian magazine Weekend Knack (weekendknack.be) is expected to publish a tribute to Thessaloniki, highlighting the city’s modern cultural identity and gastronomy, as part of a press trip implemented in collaboration with the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (TTO). During this time, the magazine’s travel editor is visiting Halkidiki, in order to record its unique beauties, beaches, and inexhaustible natural and cultural wealth.
