GNTO: Familiarization of Chinese journalists and Influencers with Santorini, Mykonos, Delos, and Athens

GNTO, in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Greece, is organizing a familiarization trip for 10 journalists and Influencers from China during the period from June 30 to July 4, with destinations Santorini, Mykonos, Delos, and Athens.

The trip is implemented in the context of the inauguration of a new air connection between Chengdu and Athens from June 30 by “Sichuan Airlines”, which is a new company for the Athens airport. The connection will operate four times a week, with an intermediate stop in Istanbu,l and will be served from Tianfu International Airport in Chengdu to Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos. The addition of Athens to Chengdu’s international flight network marks the strengthening of air ties between China and Greece.

To promote this new air connection, from the Chinese side, journalists and influential personalities with millions of followers on social media are going to visit our country.

The guests are going to visit Mykonos and Delos by their own means, aiming to further familiarize themselves with the Greek island physiognomy and to promote authentic Cycladic destinations to the Chinese public. The trip is taking place in collaboration with the Municipality of Santorini and local organizations on the island, which are going to offer the guests transportation, meals, tours and other services.

It is noted that the Greek National Tourism Organization in the previous days participated in an event held in Chengdu in which Sichuan Airlines promoted its new flights, including the flight to Athens.

It is noted that a joint B2B event with Greek and Chinese agencies is planned for September. Approximately 150 Agencies, members of the Sichuan Province Travel Agencies Association, as well as Greek Travel Agencies (DMC) and other entities from Greece will be invited to the event with the aim of concluding agreements to create new tourist packages and enrich existing ones, with the aim of promoting both destinations to their clientele and supporting the new flight through tourist flows of inbound and outbound tourism.
