With the aim of dynamically promoting Pieria as a four-season destination, the Pierian Tourism Development and Promotion Organization (P.O.T.A.P.) recently implemented an organized hospitality action with the participation of influential Turkish influencers. The action is part of the Organization’s extroversion strategy and aims to open the region to new tourist markets, with an emphasis on the Turkish market.
During their stay in Pieria, the invited influencers were guided to places of high natural and cultural interest, accompanied by the Director of P.O.T.A.P. Mr. Vasilis Dimou, and the Office Manager, Ms. Vasileia Kagassidou. Their program included, among other things, a visit to the Olympus National Park —one of the country’s top ecotourism destinations— as well as the traditional settlement of Paleos Panteleimonas, which preserves the local architecture intact and charms every visitor with its atmosphere.
The visitors also got to know tourist settlements and attractions in the three Municipalities of Pieria, sharing their experiences with thousands of followers through their social networks. Particular emphasis was placed on the region’s beaches and gastronomic identity, with influencers capturing authentic moments that highlight the destination’s hospitality, nature, and diversity.
In the context of the action, the President of P.O.T.A.P. Mr. George Karalis stated:
“Pieria systematically invests in targeted promotion and opening up to new markets, such as Turkey, in order to highlight its multidimensional character as a destination throughout the year. Through hospitality actions and collaborations with tourism professionals, we build strong bridges of extroversion to strengthen the local economy and the sustainable tourism development of Pieria”.
The hospitality action was strengthened by the collaboration with local bodies and businesses, which contributed decisively to its success. P.O.T.A.P. publicly expressed its thanks to the Mediterranean Village Hotel and Spa and the MANDALA Seaside Luxury business for their hospitality and support. At the same time, special mention was made to the Olympus National Park Management Unit and the tour guide Mr. Savvas Vasiliadis for their essential contribution to the visitors’ tour.
This specific action is part of a broader plan of targeted promotional actions implemented by POTAP, utilizing modern communication and influence tools, such as influencer marketing, to strengthen the tourist image of Pieria in foreign markets.
Against the backdrop of the growing importance of digital content and personal experiences in choosing a destination, Pieria is investing in strategies that highlight the authenticity and diversity of the place. In the coming period, the Organization is planning new hospitality actions and collaborations with professionals from dynamic and emerging markets, seeking stable and qualitative development of the region’s tourism product.
