Strong interest in the Ionian Islands at the TTG Travel Experience in Rimini

The Ionian Islands region had a dynamic presence at the International Tourism Exhibition TTG Travel Experience 2025, which took place from 8 to 10 October in Rimini, Italy, one of the most important meetings in global tourism.

The event hosted more than 2,700 exhibitors and 55,000 tourism professionals from all over the world, confirming its international character. In this context, the Ionian Islands region’s pavilion was a point of reference, attracting the interest of hundreds of visitors who were informed about the multidimensional tourism product of the islands.

During the exhibition, contacts were made with travel agents, journalists, bloggers and professionals from the Italian and international market, with the aim of expanding partnerships and strengthening the presence of the Ionian Islands in the Italian tourism scene.

The region’s participation is part of the strategy to strengthen extroversion and consolidate the Ionian Islands as a leading Mediterranean destination. The Italian market, which already maintains a significant share of tourist traffic to the Ionian Islands, is expected — as noted — to show further growth in 2026, according to the data and interest recorded in Rimini.

The director of the Greek National Tourist Organization of Italy, Kyriaki Boulasidou, pointed out that the organization will proceed with targeted promotional actions in Milan, Rome and Naples, with the aim of continuously strengthening the Greek presence in Italy. At the same time, the regional pavilion was visited by the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Greek Embassy in Rome, Euphrosyne Mita.

The Ionian Islands Region was represented by Giorgos Papavlasopoulos, Head of Tourism of the Corfu Regional Authority, and Chrysoula Maxouti, member of the Tourism Promotion Team.
