The Region of Central Macedonia approaches the Baltic market

The Region of Central Macedonia, in collaboration with the Halkidiki Tourist Organization and the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, participated in the Baltic Roadshow, with stops in Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius. The action is part of the strategy to strengthen the extroversion of tourism and promote the region in new markets, such as Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

During the events, targeted B2B meetings were held with tourist agencies and agents from the Baltic, who expressed strong interest in the coastal areas and beaches of Central Macedonia, in Thessaloniki as a city break destination, but also in thematic experiences that combine culture, gastronomy, wine tourism, nature and wellness.

The direct Riga-Thessaloniki flight facilitates the connection to these markets and makes Central Macedonia an ideal choice for tourists from the Baltics, who are looking for authentic experiences in a safe and attractive destination.

“With initiatives such as the Baltic Roadshow, the Region of Central Macedonia continues to build bridges of cooperation and highlight its multidimensional tourism product in new and dynamic markets. Visitors from the Baltics prefer to travel outside the high season and choose alternative forms of tourism. In the events we participated in, it became clear that our region is a particularly attractive destination for them, as it combines what they are looking for,” said Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Vicky Hatzivasiliou.
