GNTO: Greece is a top player in Baltic and Italian tourism markets

The leading position held by Greece in the respective markets was confirmed during the travel roadshow “Around the World” in the Baltic countries and the International Tourism Fair “TTG Travel Experience 2025” in Italy, where GNTO participated.

The “Around the World” Roadshow was organized by the company Aviareps in Tallinn, Estonia, Riga, Latvia and Vilnius, Lithuania from 7 to 9 October 2025. Along with the GNTO Scandinavian Service, the Region of Central Macedonia and the Tourism Organizations of Thessaloniki and Halkidiki also participated in these events.

In each of the cities where the roadshow was held, more than 30 local representatives of travel agencies, airlines and DMCs were informed about less popular destinations in Greece among the general travel public of the respective countries, as well as about the more general multi-thematic and sustainable Greek tourism product, which fully meets the choices of travelers from this region of Europe.

It is noted that our country is one of the three most popular destinations in the Baltic markets, along with Spain and Turkey.

Greece’s strong presence in the Italian market

At the same time, the keen interest of Italian tour operators in expanding tourist packages to Greek destinations, as well as of Italian press representatives in visiting Greece through press trips, was noted during the International Tourism Fair “TTG Travel Experience 2025”, which took place in Rimini from 8 to 10 October 2025, with the participation of the Greek National Tourist Organization (GNTO) of Italy and 13 Greek co-exhibitors.

During the exhibition, the head of the Italian National Tourist Office, Kyriaki Boulasidou, met with the leadership of the Italian Association of Travel Agents (FIAVET), with the aim of planning further synergies between the National Tourist Office and the Association for the more effective promotion of Greek destinations in the Italian market, in view of the upcoming tourist season.

At the same time, a large number of planned B2B meetings of the Greek participants with Italian TOs, tour operators and journalists took place, while during a dinner hosted by the Italian National Tourist Office, the opportunity was offered to expand the network of collaborations (networking) between the two sides.

Of particular importance is, moreover, the election on the sidelines of the report of Ms. Boulasidou to the position of president of the Association of National Tourism Organizations based in Italy, ADUTEI, a development that significantly strengthens the influence of Greece and the GNTO in the tourism industry of the neighboring country.
