“Good Morning, Czech Republic” | The country’s new, original tourism campaign

A new initiative in the Czech Republic, titled “Good Morning, Czech Republic,” aims to reshape and promote the country’s global image by telling the stories of what makes the Czech nation unique.

Inspired by similar efforts in Finland, Estonia, and the Netherlands, the campaign invites all citizens to contribute to the promotion of Czech national identity by answering a relevant questionnaire. The initiative was launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is supported by state organizations, CzechInvest and CzechTourism. The campaign will be featured at events, social media, and cultural festivals throughout the summer.

Regarding the balance of services between Greece and the Czech Republic, it remains consistently advantageous for our country. A decisive contribution to the trade in services between the two countries is made by travel services, which have recovered after the pandemic, providing Greece with significant benefits and have significant scope for greater attraction of Czech tourists, who at a European level consistently choose Greece after Croatia to spend their holidays.

The contribution of Czech visitors to Greek tourism

The main contributor to the services sector in terms of Greece’s receipts from the Czech Republic, amounting to approximately 266.2 million euros, remains travel receipts, which represent 83.45% of total receipts from the Czech Republic. In 2024, approximately 468 thousand tourists from the Czech Republic visited Greece, recording an increase in tourist flow by 23.9%, compared to 2023. Subsequently, receipts from the Czech Republic increased by 13.04%, compared to 2023, reaching, in 2024, the record amount of 266.2 million euros as mentioned above.

To date, the Greek presence in the catering sector in the Czech Republic has been limited. However, a new dynamic is emerging, as modern restaurants – bistros serving foreign cuisine are constantly opening, mainly in Prague, but also in the second largest city in the Czech Republic, Brno. This fact, combined with the large number of Czech tourists visiting Greece and the trend towards adopting new dietary choices, leads to the conclusion that there is great scope for strengthening Greek food exports.

The information comes from the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs in Prague.
