The 11th FVW TravelTalk Workshop, organized annually by Germany’s leading tourism market information network, FVW Medien, was hosted by Kos from October 15 to 19, 2025.
The workshop was held with the support of the Greek National Tourist Organization and the Tourism Directorate of the South Aegean Region, with the substantial assistance of the airline Aegean Airlines and the hotel chain Grecotel, and was attended by top executives of major travel agents, airlines, travel agencies and specialist analysts of the German tourism market (All Tours, TUI Group, Dertour Group, Coral/Ferien Touristik, LMX, Vtours, Studiosus, etc.).

New travel proposals for Greece and Kos
The main topics included the development of new travel proposals for Kos and Greece, the exploitation of the legacy of Hippocrates, best practices for sustainable development as a common pursuit, as well as the plans of tour operators for 2026, with the messages of German tourism professionals at the booking level remaining particularly encouraging for our country.

This was followed by “speed dating” with B2B meetings and contacts of the participants with representatives of local organizations and businesses.
The participants were welcomed by the prefect of Kos-Nisyros, Konstantina Svinou, and the mayor of Kos, Theodosis Nikitaras, while the head of the GNTO Germany Service, Nicoletta Lekanidi, during a discussion with the editor-in-chief of FVW and coordinator of the workshop, Klaus Hildebrandt, presented the strategic goals of Greek tourism for the near future.
Aiming to increase sales
In parallel with the workshop, the German tourism professionals attended an extensive hospitality program, which included a guided tour of the most important sights of Kos, a visit to a local winery, where they were accompanied by the president of the National Wine Tourism Committee, Mary Triantaphyllopoulou, participation in the Hippocratic Oath ceremony, visits to hotel units to get to know the quality hotel product offered on the island, as well as day trips to Nisyros and Kalymnos.
The main goal of the FVW TravelTalk Workshop is to increase sales for each destination, through its connection with decision makers and the distribution network of tour operators, retailers and FVW Medien, which communicates daily with approximately 8,000 travel agencies.
