A meeting was held today, 30.10.2025, between the members of the Board of Directors of the GNTO Employees’ Association and the Tourism Sector of PASOK – Movement for Change, the Secretary Ms. Kazakou Aristea, the parliamentary representative and head of the Tourism Sector Ms. Katerina Spyridaki and the Deputy Secretary Ms. Ersi Kokkota.
During the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on the problems faced by the Organization’s employees, as well as on the broader role of the GNTO in the country’s tourism development.
Our Association presented in detail the requests that concern issues of staffing, career development, wage justice, as well as institutional strengthening of the GNTO.
Specifically discussed were…
. the understaffing of the Organization.
. the financial losses and the need to restore the salaries of the Organization’s personnel.
. the long delay in the crisis procedures for positions of responsibility
. the upgrading of the Organization’s role in the tourism market, based on the creation of a new Organizational Chart in the Organization.
In this context, the reinstatement of the Regional Tourism Services was discussed, and the creation of a central secondary control mechanism that will carry out checks to ensure compliance with the legality of the tourism market in the country.
The requests were also submitted in writing to the executives of the Tourism Sector, who pledged to proceed with the corresponding parliamentary initiatives to highlight these issues. Specifically, they stated that they will exercise parliamentary control with timely questions to the competent Minister of Tourism, in order to obtain answers and specific commitments from the State.
The meeting was held in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect, confirming the will of all parties for dialogue, cooperation and solutions to the problems that concern the GNTO and its staff.
The employees thanked the representatives of the Tourism Sector of PASOK – Movement for Change for their interest and support, expressing the hope that with the initiatives they will carry out, they will contribute to strengthening the role of the GNTO and improving the working conditions of all employees.
