Tourism: Halkidiki promoted in Poland and Denmark

Halkidiki continues its journey to European markets, introducing the destination to tourism professionals and strengthening the prospects for even greater extroversion in the new year.

On October 21, the Halkidiki Tourist Organization participated in CONNECT on Tour | Warsaw, in Warsaw, where it presented itself to Polish travel agents and tour operators. Poland is one of the most dynamically developing markets for Halkidiki, with a steady increase in visitors in recent years.

As stated by the President of the Organization, Grigoris Tasios: “Poland is a market that is steadily investing in Northern Greece. Following our collaborations with Rainbow Tours and Grecos, this year we are particularly pleased that TUI Poland is including Halkidiki in its programs for the first time, with a direct flight once a week. This is a development that confirms the dynamic of the destination and paves the way for even more synergies in the future.”

Two days later, on October 23, the Organization participated in the Greek Tourism Workshop in Copenhagen, where B2B meetings were held with tourism professionals from Denmark and the Scandinavian countries.

Scandinavia is now a new strategic market for Halkidiki, as the coordinated efforts of the Halkidiki Tourist Organization to approach it are starting to pay off. As of March 3, 2025, SAS is launching direct flights Copenhagen – Thessaloniki, initially three times a week, which will increase to five during the summer season.

“The Scandinavian market is a highly demanding audience that seeks authentic experiences, nature and local cuisine — exactly what Halkidiki represents. We are happy that our targeted actions are starting to pay off and the destination is gaining new momentum in Northern Europe,” stressed Mr. Tasios.

Three hotels in Halkidiki also participated in the event, offering prizes to participants through a raffle, contributing to the promotion of the destination’s hospitality and extroversion.

Halkidiki continues its dynamic opening to new markets, with the aim of expanding the tourist season and promoting experiences beyond the “sun and sea” duopoly.
